An outdoor fireplace table is a great place to sit around with your family and friends not just in summertime but even during the colder seasons. You can drink your coffee, or perhaps beer, as you chat and share a few laughs with each other. You can rest your beverages, along with a few cookies or chips, on the table while enjoying the warmth and glow of the fire.

This piece of furniture is a table that doubles as a fireplace. These come is several designs with plenty of variations. Often, the fire pit is embedded within the surface of the table. A hole is cut in the middle of the table and the fire pit is inserted into it. The mouth of the pit can be aligned with the table’s surface, below or above it. Other designs, however, have the fire pit resting atop the table.

The fire pit can be made of aluminum, brass, cast iron, or stainless steel. It may be shaped identically with the table, that is, if it is circular, the table can also be circular. It is not necessary, however, that the two have the same outline. Indeed, there are round fire pits within square tables.

Since you are usually quite close to the fire with these types of fireplaces, wood is rarely the fuel of choice. While there is indeed some romance involved with the crackling fire and floating embers of wood fire, these are accompanied by soot, smoke, and ashes, not to mention the fact that some localities may have restrictions on the use of wood for fueling fireplaces. Instead, gel fuel, liquid propane, or natural gas are used.

The table can be made of either wood, or any cut and polished stone such as granite or marble. Those made of wood are usually sealed with preservatives to protect them from the sun and rain as well as from the heat of the fire pit. Granite or marble table tops stand on decorative steel frames and legs, with elaborate or simple designs.

With a grill placed atop the fire pit, you can even cook on these tables, so you can cook and eat your barbeque without the need of getting up from your chair. With some models, you can pull out the fire pit from the table and place in its stead an ice bucket that can easily accommodate a six pack. Or, if you just want an ordinary table, you can set neither fire pit nor cooler, and just cover the hole with a plain insert made of your table’s material. With this kind of versatility, you can spend the whole year sitting around your fireplace and/or cooler table or just plain good old ordinary table. You can warm yourself in winter, have your cold drinks in summer, and just lounge around in spring or autumn.

If you just got married and moved into a house with an old unused outdoor fireplace, you can spruce it up and make it alive again with a new fireplace insert that can give you a warm and glowing red fire. Or perhaps you fireplace is not providing enough heat. Again, a fireplace insert is a good solution. It would be a perfect place not only for newlyweds, but even for couples with young and grown children to bond with each other and enjoy the moon and the stars even on wintry nights.

A fireplace insert is a fireplace inserted into an existing masonry or metal fireplace. It could be fueled with wood, gas, or pellets. Fireplace inserts are usually made of heavy-gauge plate steel, sometime stainless, or cast iron. A decorative faceplate is installed at the front end, often with glass doors to keep the fire visible. The glass could be plain or etched with floral or any other design. Door trim may also be included and these could be in gold or nickel plating.

Running along the length of the chimney, from the fireplace insert up to its opening at the top is a pipe called a chimney liner that provide proper air flow and serve as a smoke vent. Without this, creosote can build up in the fireplace and thus become a fire hazard.

Some inserts exude radiant heat into an area with the help of blowers which could be either manual or thermostat-regulated. These are mounted at the front, or if the insert protrudes out of the old hearth, blowers can also be mounted to exude heat from the protruding sides. This results to better heating.

There are plenty of fireplace inserts in the market you can choose from. When purchasing one, be sure it matches the old fireplace you want to put it into in terms of the type of materials used, color, size and design. With the various designs ranging from plain and simple to extremely elaborate décor there is sure to be one that perfectly blends with your old fireplace.

If you like to watch dancing flames and to listen the crackling and popping logs as they burn and opt for the wood or pellet burning type, find out first if there are restrictions on them in your area. On the other hand, if you are not the kind that likes to clean up ashes the morning after, you might want to install a gas fireplace insert instead. These usually come with log sets designed to look like the real stuff but are fueled with either propane or natural gas.

The wood burning outdoor fireplace is the epitome of luxury, relaxation and warmth. Most people enjoy lying back in front of the outdoor fireplace and just relaxing. The flickering and dancing flames would make anyone forget problems and annoyances.

But what happens if your wood burning outdoor fireplace loses its heat? Nothing is more disappointing than an inefficient fireplace. Rather than converting your outdoor fireplace into a fireplace inserted stove, you can install some useful items that can make your fireplace emit warmth efficiently like glass doors, firebacks and grates. Essentially the outdoor fireplace grate should be the first thing to consider when your fireplace loses its sufficient heating capability.

An outdoor fireplace grate is essential to any fireplace. It is responsible for keeping all the firewood together therefore keeping the fire more efficient in warming its surroundings. Also an outdoor fireplace grate makes fire starting and tending a breeze. Looking for an outdoor fireplace grate can be a challenge but, nevertheless, fun. There are several options to choose from that will surely fit in with your existing outdoor theme.

There are two general rules for outdoor fireplace grates. The first one is frequency of usage should equal the grate quality. Therefore if you use your outdoor fireplace sparingly, a small and inexpensive low quality kind of fireplace grate is acceptable. But if you love roaring fires and use your outdoor fireplace, it is recommended that a high quality and durable outdoor fireplace grate should be purchased. The second general rule is the heavier the grate, the longer it lasts. Buying heavy grates made of solid steel and cast iron is always a good idea.
Many outdoor fireplace grates are constructed in a one piece design. This means that you won’t have to worry about losing any tiny parts. You just simply take it out of its container and place it in your fireplace.

Traditional fireplace often burn out in a couple of years because of the extreme temperature that it is exposed to. There are actually several brands of outdoor fireplace grates that are wonderfully made out of non-corrosive materials that can withstand nature’s elements. These outdoor fireplace grates are probably the last ones you would purchase.

The Lifetime outdoor fireplace grate is one of the high quality outdoor fireplace grates out there. It is extremely heavy duty and made of one inch wide steel bars. Heavier and thicker than other grates, it can be a bit expensive. But with a lifetime warranty, it surely a great buy.

The Cast Iron Self Feeding outdoor fireplace grate is an exceptional one. It has a deep contoured design that lowers burning logs to the ember bed. This design prevents any logs from rolling out onto the hearth, eliminating fire hazards. The Self Feeding outdoor fireplace grate can also be “cradled” so that the back is higher than the front and forces heat into the room. Want to create a much larger fire for your spacious outdoor fireplace? Turn the self feeding grate so that the front is higher than the back. This grate position will allow you full control of the flames while securing your safety.

When you have an outdoor fireplace in your backyard, one thing that you look forward to is the warm feeling it offers during cold days and even at night. Along with it, you would also fancy the look of the fire as it burns the logs in it. The sound of crackling logs and the glow of the embers makes you feel as if you are really having a bonfire outside you house.

But the problem with this is that nowadays people don’t have the patience to deal with wood-burning fireplace. It takes much time and effort to chop the woods and let it flame. Because of this, outdoor fireplace gas logs where invented to make it easier to light the fireplace without too much hassle because of the wood. Unlike the usual wood, gas logs are easier to light just by igniting them. Besides they are less messy than using the chopping wood into logs.

As Good as the Real Thing

The outdoor fireplace gas logs nowadays are designed to make them look like real wood. Fireplace gas logs are usually made from ceramic, ceramic fiber or concrete. They are created to replicate those of real wood. In order to make as real as possible there are many gas logs who even have detailed touches such as ax marks and knots. The outdoor fireplace gas logs make up the fireplace as if it is a wood-burning one that gives warmth and light in your backyard.

Most masonry fireplaces, prefabricated wood-burning fireplaces and ventless fireplaces can now use gas logs. When using gas logs in your fireplace make sure they agree with the type of fireplace you have either vented or ventless. Fireplaces which are vented and use direct gas usually have installed logs in it which in general cannot be changed. Vented gas logs are those that require a flue or a venting pipe in your fireplace. They usually produce brilliant fire with minimal amount ashes.

On the other hand, ventless or vent-free gas logs are those that are used without the necessity of having a flue or vent pipe. The fire that they are characterized by flames and heat that can warm a greater area or space in your backyard. But since they are designed to burn all the gas that it contains, the flames that it produces are less brilliant and large.

Natural Gas or Propane?

There are also two types of gas which you can use for your gas logs. Natural gas is more available in developed areas. If it is readily available in your place it is more cost effective than professional gas line. Another kind is the propane or LP. It can be used especially in areas where natural gas is not available such as rural localities.

Outdoor fireplace gas logs can be purchased in online stores from which you purchase through the internet. You can try searching for gas fireplace logs so that you can choose from a variety of different kinds of fireplace gas logs. Before purchasing one, make sure that you have compared the prices and quality of each. You also have to inquire if there are certain requirements or special testing or certification in area when you purchase gas logs.

With the creation of numerous outdoor fireplaces, staying out at night stargazing and relaxing over a warm fire is now possible.

An outdoor fireplace retains heat and permeates cold air by spreading warmth all over the air. One of the most popular types of fireplace that’s creating a buzz in the market is the outdoor propane fireplace. Outdoor propane fireplaces, as its name implies, utilizes propane that helps light the fireplace and allowing it to continuously provide fire.

Commonly used as fuel, Propane is a colorless gas that is highly flammable. It is found in petroleum and natural gas. Propane is contained in tanks that are fitted with regulators that control its flow. If exposed to direct fire, Propane can cause a huge accident. Make sure that your propane tanks and containers are positioned and hidden safely. It is encouraged to have an outdoor propane fireplace that has hidden compartments to store propane. Buy only from authorized and reputable dealers that guarantee safe and weatherproof products.

An outdoor propane fireplace is able to endure fireplace temperatures within and preserve the heat longer for an extended period of warmth. They also heat quite quickly and can be started automatically or manually. An outdoor propane fireplace doesn’t need continuous regulation to keep the flames in check. It can be easily adjusted with remote controls.

If you are using your outdoor propane fireplace for grilling, make sure you monitor your propane level for uninterrupted cooking. In cases of a barbeque party, it would be wise to have an extra tank handy.

Make relaxing outside as irresistible as possible with an outdoor propane fireplace.

For most people, nothing beats the traditional outdoor wood burning fireplaces. It’s long been the fireplace of choice because of the smell of burning wood and great crackle of the fire, an outdoor wood burning fireplace provides an ambiance that’s relaxing and romantic.

Imagine yourself cuddling up to your loved one while relaxing in front of a captivating fire. Or try picturing out a scene of you with visiting friends. You’re all staying outdoors enjoying a wonderful glass of fine wine or hot chocolate. With an outdoor wood burning fireplace, this is exactly what you can do. During the old days, its designs are simple and no nonsense. An outdoor wood fireplace’s purpose was to provide heat only. Now that is has become ever so popular, its designs have become ornate, complex and more sophisticated.

In addition to giving tranquillity to the homeowner, this type of fireplace is great in lowering the heating bills. This can be done when a blower is installed that pushes warm air through the entire house. Outdoor wood burning fireplaces are highly compatible with forced air furnaces, radiant baseboard and floor heating systems.

The EPA or Environmental Protection Agency encourages usage of outdoor wood burning fireplaces even stating that wood burning must be used as a primary heat source as often as possible. Wood is a renewable resource as compared to other fuels available like gasoline or coal. Wood fires do not produce excessive amounts of carbon dioxide which is helpful to our environment. Large amount of carbon dioxide releases worsens global warming. Wood burns clearly and costs less when compared to other types of fuel.

An outdoor wood burning fireplace has numerous benefits. One of them is the ability to help you save lots of money in the long run. For people living in rural areas, they can easily find wood, chop it and use it for heating their fireplace. This saves the families hundreds og dollars than if they were relying in gas, electricity or coal for heating.

Using an outdoor wood burning fireplace eliminates risk of fire indoors. Untended fires, especially during the night, are the most primary cause of indoor fires. With an outdoor wood burning fireplace, its fire is self-contained and is completely isolated from other elements.

Purchasing an outdoor wood burning fireplace is not that difficult. First, you need to find a great spot for your fireplace. Make sure that it is far from trees, branches, cables and wires. It is recommended that it should be installed within a distance from the main house.

Once you’ve found the perfect site for your outdoor wood burning fireplace, you can begin looking for reputable and reliable fireplace companies and stores that offer myriad outdoor wood burning fireplace options at a competitive price. Make sure that the materials are sturdy, durable and made for outdoors so that Mother Earth’s elements can’t easily damage it.

Like everything else in life, nothing beats a classic. Nothing beats a traditional outdoor wood burning fireplace to give heat and beautify your home.
